Tools that make the cut

TEENO started in 2020 with a cordless drill and an electric screwdriver. The idea was simple: tools that do real work around a house, a garage and a small shop, at a price you do not have to think twice about. The range grew from there, one tool at a time, each one first tried on our own bench.

Today the TEENO lineup counts ten tools, from the 3″ Mini Angle Grinder to a 20 V combo kit with nine heads. Most of them run on batteries, and each cordless kit leaves the box ready to work: batteries, a charger and the discs, bits or blades the job needs.

Our grinders are where most people meet TEENO. The 3″ Mini Angle Grinder spins a 3 in disc at 19,500 RPM, and you can run it with one hand. It is the tool you grab for the bolt that rusted on, the threaded rod that runs long, the tile edge that needs trimming. When the job gets bigger, the 5″ Brushless Angle Grinder takes standard 4-1/2 and 5 in discs and gives you three speeds, from slow polishing to 8,500 RPM for cutting.

For wood, the 1.25 HP Palm Router is the one we hand to a new woodworker. It is corded, so you will not run out of battery halfway along a tabletop edge, and you get 15 carbide bits to start with. The 20V Oscillating Tool picks up the jobs a router cannot reach: trimming a door casing for new flooring, cutting a square hole in drywall, sanding into a corner.

The 20V Combo Kit is for the person setting up a first tool shelf. One brushless handle drives a drill, an impact wrench, saws and a sander, and everything packs into one hard case. If you already own a battery platform from another brand you like, a kit like this will not join it, so count that before you buy.

At TEENO we are plain about what each tool is for. The 3″ Mini Angle Grinder is not a replacement for a full-size grinder on heavy welds. The 3″ Mini Circular Saw stops at 1/2 in, which is great for drywall and wrong for 2x4s. The 1.25 HP Palm Router takes 1/4 in and 6 mm bits, not 1/2 in. If a tool does not suit your job, another TEENO tool probably does.

A few TEENO products live outside the workshop. The Electric Scissors break down shipping boxes and cut fabric up to 1/4 in. The Hydraulic Crimping Tool presses copper fittings for 1/2, 3/4 and 1 in pipe. And yes, there is a Portable Charcoal Grill, because the people who use our tools also cook out on the weekend.

A word on batteries. Our mini grinders run on 16.8 V or 21 V packs, while the multi-tool and the combo kits use 20 V packs, and every cordless kit includes the charger that fits. Several kits come with two packs, so one charges while you work. Keep a spare in the case between jobs, and you will rarely wait on a charger halfway through a cut.
